Defending State Champions O'DEA defeat Rosevelt
By Tommy LeClercq
SEATTLE -- Last Friday night at Ingraham High School, O’Dea beat Roosevelt High School 56-28. J’Shawn Wilson had a huge game for the Fighting Irish with 264 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns.
To start the game, senior Nino Moksivong returned the opening punt for a touchdown, giving O’Dea a strong start.
The Irish were expecting Roosevelt to come out in a Wing-T offense, but instead they came out in a Spread offense.
“I got in first on 3rd quarter and it was pretty confusing,” said junior Alli Mohamad.
On the defensive side, Tavita Nonu was balling out with a big sack that pushed the Rough Riders back 4 yards. O’Dea’s defense kept making big plays throughout the game.
From the sideline, Wilson West said, “The fullback could be more selfless and play with more intensity.”
Overall, O’Dea had a strong game and got the 56-28 win.
