The Buzzing Assembly

Excitement filled the gym as we gathered in, waiting for the homecoming assembly to start. We began with a house roll call, a tradition that brings together students from different houses, fostering a sense of unity and competition.

Each house cheered proudly as their house was called, showcasing the spirit of rivalry that defines our school.

We were in the midst of the 2023 Homecoming assembly held in the gym on Friday afternoon before the Homecoming football game. Xavier Moimoi '24 said, "It was enjoyable and cool to see how hyped the school got."

After the roll call, we dove straight into the action-packed activities. We started off with a spike-ball competition, but one of the the highlights of the assembly was the three games of three-point shooting, where students showcased their basketball skills and sharpshooting abilities.

Then, there was the annual limbo competition to see who would be this year's champion, while laughter filled the gym as participants struggled to make their way under the ever-lowering bar.

As the event continued, we moved to a thrilling competition that combined the three fall sports: running, putting, and throwing a football across the gym to see who was the most accurate, adding another layer to the event's excitement.

In between competitions, our Esports team captains and fall sports captains spoke about their seasons, and we all joined in with the band to sing the Fight Song at the end, finishing an excellent Homecoming assembly.
