SEATTLE — Thursday, September 11, O’Dea and Ballard finished even at West Seattle’s par-31 course, each posting a team score of 132 in a back-and-forth match. Senior Ben Smoltz led the Fighting Irish in scoring with a 39, closely followed by teammates senior Grayson Deiner and senior John Pokorny, who both carded a 41.
The match was played at West Seattle Golf Course, a scenic track known for its rolling fairways and views of downtown and Elliott Bay. While the course provided challenges with uneven lies and breezy afternoon conditions, O’Dea showed steady play to keep pace with Ballard.
The Fighting Irish now turn their focus to their next matchup against Lakeside on Tuesday, September 23, Bill Wright Golf Club. With a 3:30 p.m. tee time, O’Dea will look to build off their performance and to secure a win as the season moves deeper into league play.
