SEATTLE -- Golf is a solo sport, but junior Andrew Bosa shows that the game isn't about playing for oneself, it's about playing for O'Dea.

Bosa is a captain and a three-year varsity player, but above all, he is an O’Dea man. He cares immensely about his O’Dea brothers and wants to see them succeed.

Bosa says, “Playing for O’Dea is a form of carrying a shield because you have to protect it.”

Bosa knows about the prestige of O'Dea and the consequences that come with playing for them.

Bosa also talks about golf being more than a skill-based game.

He says, “The most challenging part is how golf is mostly mental and skill is a small part of it.”

Bosa believes that with a great mind for golf and no hesitance toward any challenge, succeeding will become natural at any level of golf.

Along with just the game, Bosa has developed as a human being while playing golf.

“It has helped me learn how to struggle with a bad start,” Bosa says, “because it’s a big mental challenge starting a golf round bad.”

Bosa shows that golf can be more than just a game of hitting a ball into a hole by talking about the mental side and how he has learned that a bad start isn’t the worst when it happens in life.

On the surface-level, golf is a simple game, but Bosa has molded it into a mental challenge that he can learn from in day-to-day life.
