SEATTLE- On September 11th, O'Dea High School football faced rival Rainier Beach at SWAC, defeating them 31–16 in a physical matchup that marked Coach Monte Kohler’s 395th career victory.
With the game starting at 7 p.m., it was a cool evening in West Seattle—perfect football weather for a Metro League showdown. Sophomore Jashaun Wilson added 100 rushing yards and two key touchdowns to give O'Dea the early edge. Ray Clark, who also clocked 75 yards and a touchdown, helped seal the win. The Fighting Irish defense held strong in the second half, keeping Rainier Beach out of the end zone and forcing multiple turnovers.
Kohler’s milestone win further cements his legacy as one of Washington’s most successful high school coaches.
O'Dea will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup against Seattle Prep on Friday, September 19, at West Seattle Stadium.
