O'Dea Dominates on Senior Night

The O’Dea Fighting Irish closed out their Metro League regular season Thursday night with a commanding 56–14 victory over the West Seattle Wildcats. The win not only capped off Senior Night in memorable fashion but also secured the Metro League Football title and pushed the Irish higher in the WIAA state rankings. 

Heading into the matchup, West Seattle sat second in the 3A football standings, while O’Dea held the sixth spot. After the impressive performance, the new rankings placed O’Dea in the No. 2 position and West Seattle dropped to ninth. The night marked a statement win for the Irish as they continue to build momentum heading into postseason play. 

Following the game, senior running back Uriah Stringfield reflected on the emotions of the night and the atmosphere surrounding Senior Night.

“It was a great night with a good atmosphere, and being able to play in front of my family for maybe my last time was just a blessing,” Stringfield said. The excitement and energy were strong from kickoff to the final whistle, as both teams honored their seniors. 

While the evening carried plenty of emotion, the Irish made sure the focus remained on finishing strong. “We just gotta keep going because we still have unfinished business—it’s not over yet,” Stringfield added, echoing the mindset that has fueled O’Dea’s success all season.
