Lessons Beyond the Field: Brady Clisham
SEATTLE -- Many might focus on the physical challenges they face while competing in their sport. However, senior Brady Clisham has other challenges on his mind.
Clisham is a varsity athlete that switched positions in his high school career going from a starting tight end to a starting defensive end.
When going through this change, Clisham said how the challenge “taught [him] to stay persistent instead of giving up when [he] forgot a play.”
He also learned to keep pushing forward no matter how hard things became and to use his mistakes as a way to improve.

Clisham connects this same mindset to how he completes his schoolwork and handles other challenges in life.
“Instead of instantly jumping to someone for the answer when I'm stuck, I actually try to figure it out myself.”
This shows how football has taught him to work through challenges instead of just jumping towards conclusions in his everyday life.
This lesson helps Clisham keep his "mindset positive even with failure" and made him "mentally stronger in practice and school".
This lesson also teaches him to build off tough challenges and turn them into successes.
Clisham looks to keep using this crucial lesson as he continues his football career and heads to college.
