If you're a student at O'Dea, you should know how important mentor group is. Mentor group happens after the first period at O'Dea and it's a time to bond with your brothers in a non-work period.

There is one leader in a mentor group at O'Dea that makes sure everyone is right by bringing good vibes to the table. Meet Davonn Abaga, a junior in the class of 2025.

Abaga is a mentor group co-captain for Dublin House. He spoke on what motivated him to become a leader in the fighting Irish community: "I got motivated to become a leader because it sounded fun", Davonn claimed. "I wanted my voice to be involved in the decisions we make so we can make O'Dea a better place for everyone."

Davonn also plays safety for the football team at O'Dea. He uses his leadership skills on the field as well as in the classroom. Davonn believes what he does daily impacts others in a positive manner. "What I do daily that impacts others is just being myself and bring good vibes so no one has to be scared or nervous," remarked Davonn. "I try to get as many people involved in what we do in the community."

Being a leader at O'Dea is what Davonn truly enjoys. He wants to see everyone have fun around the great energy he brings. Davonn even gives up time out of his day to bring up new leadership ideas for the community. "Sometimes I have to give up my Irish block to go over leadership ideas so that everyone can have a better time," stated Davonn.

Davonn is also a leader outside of O'Dea. He participates in service by helping others that are not related to O'Dea. He has become a role model for others at O'Dea by doing those types of activities outside of school. "Yes I believe I'm a leader outside of O'Dea, anywhere I go I'm always willing to give a helping hand," Davonn said.
