At O'Dea we love to make everyone feel included in a group-based setting, so we have different types of clubs everyone can join for different kinds of things. Some are to do activities together and some are to meet new students and make new friends and also bond with everyone.

Club meetings during Irish Block are an amazing way to meet new students and new teachers. An example of this happened to Xavier Moimoi who I interviewed; I asked him what led him to join BSUE (Black Students United in Excellence), and he said he chose to join BSUE because it was a step out of his comfort zone. He also said it was a chance for him to bond with his African American brothers.

I also asked Xavier who leads or teaches the BSUE club. Xavier said Dean Magee makes everyone feel included no matter what which is a strong character trait, and it helps everyone to step out of their comfort zones when they have discussions. In conclusion, at O'Dea, we like to make everyone feel included in school activities, and BSUE is a perfect example of that.
