SEATTLE -- All good things come to an end.

Senior captain Frederik Parks has a burning desire to make his last ride with O’Dea football the best one. Before Parks graduates, he plans to write his legacy on and off the field to bring his teammates up to a level of success that he believes is the standard.

Being one out of the four captains, Parks noticed that other leaders on the team have more of a vocal presence and his approach to be the role model for the team is to lead by example.

Parks has had a long relationship with football building him to become the leader that he is today.

"I started playing football when I was in 3rd grade, and then when I got to high school, I really found my love for the game," Parks said.

Heading into his senior year Parks believes he has a different approach on his leadership strategies. Parks believes he should "go out there and set an example for everyone else" and be that quiet confidence on the gridiron.

He also expresses the importance of it being his last year on the team relating that "having to step up and leadership type goals really makes it different for me."

The expectations of O'Dea's football program are to go 1-0 every week until the ultimate goal of winning a state championship is finished. This has happened in the past two years with Parks playing a key role in the success of the varsity team.

Wining a third state title in a row is something that hasn't happened in many years. Parks explains the importance in this saying "to win the third, it would mean everything," and that he "would love to do it for the seniors."

With the position Parks has been given as a captain for the team, he plans to prove everyday why he wears the "C" on his chest. Part of this role means to put the team before himself by utilizing his unique sense of leadership.

In the near future, Parks wants the best for the team- this year and in the future of the program, stating, "I hope when I'm gone that my younger guys can get the job done and win a state championship."

With the love and desire to give the game his all, Parks will fight to make the most out of his final year as a quiet influence over the football team.
