SEATTLE – One of the best duos in the state of Washington are back! Football stars Uriah Stringfield and Timo Sousou, who grew up playing football together in middle school, now have reunited for their senior season at O’Dea High School. The two of them began their High School careers at Central Kitsap High School, but following their sophomore season, Stringfield decided to take his talents to O’Dea. The following year, Sousou coming off an All-State Linebacker junior season, decided to follow his brother, and joined the Fighting Irish.
Stringfield stated, “It feels great to get on the same field again, we’ve played since middle school all the way through high school.” Sousou responded saying “I was definitely excited, knowing I get to play with him again. It was fun when we played back at Central Kitsap.” After Sousou missed the first four games due to the WIAA transfer rule, the Irish have been dominating their opponents on both sides of the ball, with each of the two contributing on both offense and defense. With years of playing on the field together, their chemistry on and off the field is as strong as you can imagine. Stringfield stated “Our chemistry grew, we know how to play together on the field. Just continuing to use that chemistry on the field will give you a lot of confidence.” That confidence has helped continue the Irish momentum, including winning the Metro League championship for the 3rd consecutive season.
The league championship however is not the end goal…the Irish are looking to repeat as state champions. “It would definitely be more special for my brother to win a state championship,” Uriah said. Stringfield won a state championship with the Irish in 2024. Sousou, meanwhile, has not had the taste of a high school state title. He shared “state championship is definitely one of my biggest goals here,” he said. “Feel like we just got to execute and keep pushing.”
These two lifelong teammates have had the journey come full circle, and they’re now ready to finish what they started. As the postseason approaches, Stringfield and Sousou are leading a pack of hunting dogs - looking to bring home a second straight state championship to O’Dea.
