SEATTLE — The time: 6 o’clock. The location: West Seattle Stadium. The warmups: about to take place.

As Coach Kohler stepped onto the field, a sense of excitement enveloped him. He saw that his players’ cleats were one with the turf, and he knew something spectacular was about to happen — and not just because it was senior night. What he did not know was that his team was about to put up seven touchdowns against an undefeated West Seattle side.

Sophomore running back J’Shaun Wilson got the night started with a 15-yard touchdown run. That was followed by senior running back Uriah Stringfield with a five-yard touchdown run shortly after.

O’Dea was not done with rushing touchdowns yet, as junior fullback Max Speller carried it into the end zone from five yards out.

Moments later, freshman quarterback Allias Moimoi dropped back and threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to senior Giulio Banchero to make the score 28–6.

Just after halftime, O’Dea added to their lead through senior running back Timo Sousou who scored from six yards out

Stringfield, having already scored in the first quarter, ran it into the end zone again for a 10-yard touchdown. Shortly after that, Wilson then cut up the middle and ran for a five-yard touchdown — his second of the night.

Finally, senior quarterback Hutton Leverett ran a sneak up the middle for a four-yard touchdown to make the score 56–14.

When asked about the thrashing of the night, Wilson said, “I think the team did great coming out of the second half, putting up almost 30 points, and the defense not allowing any more points.”

Having won that game, O’Dea secured the number one seed in the Metro League. The bye will give O’Dea an extra week to fully rest up and recharge as they find out which team they will be taking on next.
