SEATTLE- Senior running back Jason Brown values every carry he gets not knowing how many carries he will have with other running backs on the field. Jason was limited to 9 carries but capitalized on them, finishing with a total of 210 yards.

With Brown's amazing performance, the Irish were able to win 51-21 against Blanchet. But this win was a collective team effort as everyone did their own job.

Junior linebacker King Allah states “All the guys did their job.”

This win didn’t come easy, though, as O’Dea struggled to finish the game strong. But O’Dea ended up coming together and finishing the Bears off.

Allah states that some of the things the Irish can improve on are “working as a team and going through the struggles together”.

Brown also couldn’t do this without the holes being opened by the offensive linemen. With many holes being opened this led to O’Dea’s offense rushing for a total of 389 yards. Running backs Quinn White, Luther Hill, Montre Jenkins, and Christian Winn all chipped in to contribute to the yards.

Although a lot of good came from the run game O’Dea also managed to have a good passing game. With senior quarterback Antone Araujo being able to find receivers Andrew Tran and Ryan Phillips, O’Dea’s offense passed for a total of 105 receiving yards.

On the other side of the ball, O’Dea’s defense was able to play all game with their foot on the gas pedal. With the Defensive line and linebackers working together, O’Dea was able to hold Blanchet to a shutout in the first half.

On special team’s junior kicker, Owen Livingston was able to make all field goals giving the Irish every advantage they could take.

This game was a big win for the Irish as they prepare to take on Rainier Beach next Friday at Seattle Memorial Stadium. Although Beach comes into the game 0-2 O’Dea cannot get too ahead of themselves and blow the game.
