SEATTLE- Senior Giulio Banchero has made a big impact on the O’Dea basketball team. Even though football is his main sport, he gives his full effort every time he steps on the basketball court.

Banchero is committed to playing football at Eastern Washington University, but he still plays an important role on the basketball team. His leadership and hard work sets a strong example for younger players who are looking up to him.

O’Dea basketball has shaped his character and the way he approaches school.

Banchero said, “Our coaching staff is real structured, we must tuck our jerseys in during practice, and it helps make me have the same mindset every day and getting the job done.”

For Banchero, small rules help build focus and discipline. Staying locked in at practice helps him stay focused in class and in football too.

O’Dea is a big part of who he is both on and off the court.

“[O’Dea High School] means everything to me, it’s an extension of representing my last name,” he said.

Banchero knows that wearing the O’Dea jersey is about pride and respect. No matter the sport, he works hard to represent his family and school the right way every day.
